Jackson Generals

The Jackson Generals were the fourth and longest lasting moniker for KITTY League (Kentucky - Illinois - Tennessee) teams from Jackson, TN. Preceded by the Railroaders, Climbers, and Blue Jays, the Jacskon Generals played intermittently from 1935-1954.

Prior to WWII, the Generals best seasons were 1930 and 1940, where they won the playoff titles each season. In 1938, they finished second in the pennant race to the Hopkinsville Hoppers, but ended up beating the Hoppers in the final to win the championship. In 1940, they defeated the Bowling Green Barons to win their second title.

The Generals would eventually return after WII in 1950, however their on-field results were nothing like the original team. They went a solid 68-50 in 1950, but it was downhill from their. They won 59, 48, and 58 games in the following three seasons before the bottom fell out in 1954. They opened the 1954 season with a 20-0 loss to Union City and from there went on to lose 26 in a row. The team would fold mid-season and move to Central City, KY, and be renamed the Reds.
