Charleston was a charter member of the Class C circuit that formed in 1904 across Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida, and stayed in it until 1923. Charleston posted the best regular season record again in 1914 at 78-46 and once more in 1917, losing in the playoffs both times, then took a fourth title in 1922.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe name drifted over the years, appearing as Seagulls, Sea Gulls, and eventually just Gulls, before the club became the Palmettos in 1920 and the Pals from 1921 through 1923.
