Beaumont Golden Gators baseball memorabilia

Beaumont Golden Gators

The Beaumont Golden Gators were a short-lived minor league baseball team from Beaumont, Texas. They only lasted a few seasons, from 1983 through 1986, but they had an absolutely awesome name and logo. The team played at Vincent-Beck Stadium on the campus of Lamar University. Part of their name derives from the "golden triangle" of cities in Texas that are Beaumont, Orange, and Port Arthur.

The Golden Gators were quite successful on the field, with tons of future major league stars including Sandy Alomar Jr, John Kruk, Roberto Alomar, Ozzie Guillen, and Benito Santiago. So it should come as no surprise that they won the league in 1983 and then were runners up the following season. Unfortunately, the team was sold and moved to Kansas in 1987.
