Fulton Chicks

Fulton, Kentucky, was home to a number of KITTY League (Kentucky-Illinois-Tennesee) teams over the years, including the Fulton Chicks from 1947-48. The team was originally the Fulton Bulldogs in 1946, when the KITTY League resumed play following WWII and changed their name to the Chicks for the 1947 season.

On the field, the Chicks were pretty good but not spectacular. In 1947, they finished 68-57, which unfortunately left them 1 game behind the Owensboro Oilers for the final playoff spot. The team fared worse in 1948, finishing 57-68 and 27 games out of first place. For the 1949 season, the team was renamed the Railroaders. Today, there is a summer college league team that has revived the Railroaders name.
