Fulton Lookouts
Fulton, Kentucky, was home to a number of KITTY League (Kentucky-Illinois-Tennesee) teams over the years, and they seemed to change their name almost yearly! When the league resumed play after WWII in 1946, they used the Bulldogs moniker. A year later they changed to the Chicks, then the Railroaders, and in 1952 the team settled on "Lookouts".
For four seasons, the Lookouts played at Fairfield Park in Fulton. The team was also a Washington Senators affiliate during this time. The Lookouts were quite successful on the field, winning a league pennant in 1952 and 1953. Unfortunately, they weren't able to capture a playoff title in either year. They lost out to Union City (IL) Greyhounds in 1952 and the Paducah Chiefs in the final in 1953. Following the 1955 season, the KITTY League folded and along with it, the Lookouts. Fulton has not hosted minor league ball since, although there is a summer collegiate league team there that has revived the Fulton Railroaders name.
