Vintage Nevada Shirts: Defunct Nevada Baseball Teams

Two of Nevada's clubs played in the West's Class A circuit: the Reno Silver Sox, whose name nods to the Silver State itself, and the Las Vegas Wranglers, who brought professional baseball to the desert before the modern era of Las Vegas sports.

Nevada's professional baseball goes back to 1907, when the Nevada State League put teams in the boom camps of Goldfield and Tonopah, the state capital, and Reno for a single summer. The Goldfield Miners won the pennant, the Carson City Capitals finished a half game back, and the Tonopah Mollycoddles carried a nickname that was slang for a pampered softie. The Reno BlackJacks of 1999, an independent club named for the casino game, were the last pro team at Reno's Moana Stadium.

Our vintage Nevada shirts honor these defunct clubs with original designs grounded in real research.
