Springfield Blanket Makers
The Springfield Blanket Makers, from Springfield, TN, were a short-lived minor league baseball team in the KITTY League. The KITTY League was a Class D minor league during the first half of the 20th century that consisted of teams from Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee. The Blanket Makers played a single season in the KITTY in 1923, and their nickname was a nod to the textile manufacturing in the area at that time. Unfortunately, the team wasn't as successful as the blanket industry in Springfield. They started the season 14-36 and folded in July of 1923. The franchise was sold and moved to Milan-Trenton where they would be the Milan-Trenton Twins.
