The Bend Bucks played professional baseball in Bend, Oregon, from 1987 to 1991 in the short-season Class A league in the Pacific Northwest, with home games at Vince Genna Stadium. The club took its name from a name-the-team contest after the Bend Phillies lost their affiliation following the 1986 season.
As a California Angels farm club in 1988 and 1989, the Bucks had Gary DiSarcina, Jim Edmonds, Damion Easley and Tim Salmon on their rosters, all future Angels. Bend fielded co-op rosters in the other three seasons. In December 1991 the club signed with the expansion Colorado Rockies, who required their own nickname, and the Bucks became the Bend Rockies in 1992.
