The Bend Timber Hawks of Bend, Oregon, played a single season of professional baseball in 1978 as a farm club of the Oakland Athletics in the short-season Class A league in the Pacific Northwest. Managed by Ed Nottle, they played at Vince Genna Stadium and finished 35-37, two games behind Eugene in the South Division.
Pitcher Keith Atherton, Oakland's second-round pick that year, led the staff with 7 wins and later won a World Series ring with the 1987 Minnesota Twins. Omar Minaya, later general manager of the Montreal Expos and New York Mets, was also on the roster. Attendance fell short, and in February 1979 the franchise moved to Medford.
