The Tri-Cities Triplets of Richland, Washington, played four seasons, from 1983 through 1986, in the short-season Class A league in the Pacific Northwest. The name referred to the three neighboring cities of Kennewick, Pasco and Richland.
As a Texas Rangers affiliate in 1984, the Triplets went 46-28, the best record in the league, and won the championship game 17-8 over the Medford A's at home on Labor Day. Future major leaguers Paul Kilgus, Randy Kramer, John Jaha and Gino Minutelli all played in Richland. After two last-place finishes as an independent, the franchise was sold in the fall of 1986 and moved to Boise.
