The Union City Greyhounds, based in Union City, Tennessee, were a steady presence in the Class D KITTY League from 1935 to 1955. They won league titles in 1936, 1948, and 1954, with the 1936 championship coming after Paducah refused to finish the deciding series, leading to bans for several of its players. In 1953, the team became affiliated with the Brooklyn Dodgers and was renamed the Union City Dodgers. The franchise ended when the KITTY League folded in 1955, and Union City has not hosted professional baseball since.
