The Easton Farmers, based in Easton, Maryland, joined the Eastern Shore League in 1924 and played through 1928. The franchise later returned as the Easton Browns (1937), Easton Cubs (1938), and Easton Yankees (1939 to 1941, 1946 to 1949), winning league championships under the Yankees name in both 1941 and 1949. The Farmers nickname reflected Easton's agricultural surroundings on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

The 1924 Farmers are best remembered for a single roster decision. Player-manager Frank "Home Run" Baker, a future Hall of Famer himself, signed a 16-year-old local talent named Jimmie Foxx to play for Easton that season. Foxx hit .296 with 10 home runs in his only season with the Farmers, including a long home run hit in front of attending commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis, before Baker sold him to Connie Mack and the Philadelphia Athletics before the season even ended. Foxx went on to hit 534 career home runs and a Hall of Fame induction of his own. Baker returned to manage Easton again in 1925.

The Eastern Shore League was a Class D league that ran on the Delmarva Peninsula across three separate stretches: 1922 to 1928, 1937 to 1941, and 1946 to 1949, with teams drawn from Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

Our premium lightweight shirts are the hugely popular Bella+Canvas brand 3001 tees. They are much lighter and thinner feeling than a traditional heavyweight tee. They also are more form fitting and feel more snug. These are generally 90% to 100% cotton, although please note that heather colors in this item are 52% cotton.

Size Guide: Fit is true to size or a little snug. Considering ordering one size up if you are normally between sizes.
