Owensboro Distillers
The Owensboro Distillers were a KITTY League team during the early 1900s. The KITTY League was a Class D minor league that spanned the first half of the 20th century and consisted of teams from Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee, which gave it the "KITTY" moniker. The Distillers are one of four teams from Owensboro that took part in the KITTY over the decades, the others being the Corncrackers, Pirates and Owensboro Oilers.
The Distillers, whose name pays homage to Kentucky's bourbon history, started play in 1903, the founding year of the original KITTY League. The Distillers didn't last long though, as they folded on June 1 after only about 11 games.
