Owensboro Distillers

The Owensboro Distillers were a Kitty League team of the early 1900s. The Kitty League was a Class D minor league of the first half of the 20th century made up of teams from Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee, which gave it its name. The Distillers are one of four Owensboro teams that took part in the Kitty League over the decades, the others being the Corncrackers, the Pirates, and the Owensboro Oilers.

The Distillers, whose name pays homage to Kentucky's bourbon heritage, started play in 1903, the founding year of the original Kitty League. They didn't last long, folding on June 1 after only about eleven games.
