The Mount Sterling Essex were a minor league baseball team based in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, that played in the Class D Blue Grass League during the 1922 and 1923 seasons. The team adopted the name “Essex” after receiving a sponsorship from the local Ragan-Gay Motor Company, which provided uniforms and named the team after the Essex automobile. They played their home games at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds before folding after the 1923 season.
