The Hopkinsville Hoppers, often called “Hoptown,” were one of the most stable franchises in KITTY League history, fielding teams in every version of the league from 1904 to 1954. Originally the “Browns” in 1904, they soon adopted the Hoppers name and played mostly as an independent club, with brief affiliations to the Cubs and Athletics in the 1940s–50s. The team won three KITTY League pennants (1911, 1938, 1948) and captured its only playoff title in 1947. Like the rest of the league, the Hoppers folded when the KITTY League shut down in 1955.
