The Bryan Bombers were a Class C minor league team that played in the Lone Star and East Texas leagues in the late 1940s. The team played at Bomber Field, now known as Edible Field and home to the Brazos Valley Bombers. They attracted 2,000 fans to their first game, against the Lufkin Foresters in April 1947. The success was short-lived, as the Lone Star League folded after only two seasons and the Bombers moved with a number of other teams to the East Texas League. The club changed its name to the Sports in 1950 but folded after only two seasons in the East Texas League.
The most famous Bombers alum is Jo-Jo Moore, a six-time All-Star who won the 1933 World Series with the New York Giants.
