Richmond Pioneers
The Richmond Pioneers were a minor league baseball team based in Richmond, Kentucky, that played in the early 1900s. They were members of the Class D Blue Grass League, which featured teams from across central Kentucky. The Pioneers were active from 1908 through 1912. Richmond's participation in the league placed them alongside other small-town Kentucky teams like the Winchester Hustlers and Paris Bourbonites. The team played their home games in Richmond, though the exact ballpark is not known. The Blue Grass League experienced frequent changes in membership and structure, and Richmond was one of the communities that fielded a club during its early years.
