Bi-State League: Mill Town Baseball on the Carolina-Virginia Line

The Bi-State League ran through textile and furniture country along the North Carolina and Virginia line in the 1930s and early 1940s. Its teams wore the work of their towns: the Bassett Furnituremakers, the Fieldale Towelers, the Martinsville Manufacturers, the Mount Airy Graniteers, and the Leaksville-Draper-Spray Triplets, a club named for three mill villages that later merged into the city of Eden.
