Big State League (1947-1957): Postwar Texas Baseball
The Big State League lived up to its name, running through Texas's mid-sized cities from 1947 to 1957: the Austin Pioneers, the Waco Pirates, the Temple Eagles, and the Wichita Falls Spudders inland, with the Galveston White Caps, Corpus Christi Clippers, and Port Arthur Sea Hawks holding down the Gulf. Texarkana's Bears and the Sherman-Denison Twins moved over from the East Texas League as that circuit wound down, and Lubbock's Hubbers repped the South Plains.
Our vintage style shirts honor these defunct clubs with original designs grounded in real research.
