The Harrisburg Coal Miners, from Harrisburg, Illinois, were a Kitty League (Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee) team of the early 20th century. The Kitty League ran in several iterations between 1903 and 1955.
Harrisburg had a few different Kitty League teams: first the Merchants in 1910, then the Miners in 1911, and the Coal Miners in 1913. The 1911 Miners picked up and moved to Jackson, Tennessee, in midseason, becoming the Jackson Climbers and citing financial losses in Harrisburg. The 1913 Coal Miners struggled, going 42-85 and finishing seventh. The team did not return for 1914, and Harrisburg has not hosted pro ball since.
