The Keokuk Kernels, named for the Hubinger corn starch plant, played the Three-I League (the Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League) from 1952 to 1957 as a Cleveland affiliate. Roger Maris played here in 1954 and, under manager Jo-Jo White, learned to pull the ball, an adjustment that pointed toward his 61 home runs in 1961.

The 1955 Kernels went 92-34, finished 22 games clear of second place, and swept to the championship behind Mudcat Grant's 19-3 record and batting champion Russ Nixon. That team ranks 30th on Minor League Baseball's all-time Top 100.

Retro Baseball Revival celebrates historic baseball teams with unique apparel, honoring their legacy and bringing history to one-of-a-kind clothing with our old school retro baseball tees from defunct Minor League Baseball teams. All of our high quality apparel is designed, printed, and shipped within the USA. This collection features 100% original designs based on the history and nicknames of historic minor league teams.

Our standard (non-premium) hoodies are classics that anyone is sure to recognize. They are thick, durable Gildan brand hoodies. They are a cotton/poly blend that stands the test of time and feature the 'kangaroo pouch' on the front with a draw string hood.
