The Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League, affectionately called the KITTY League, was a Class D minor league that operated intermittently from 1910 to 1955. It primarily featured teams from Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee, with occasional clubs from Missouri and Indiana. The league played in four distinct stretches—1910–1914, 1922–1924, 1935–1942, and 1946–1955—and at various times fielded teams in more than 20 cities, including Paducah, Fulton, Hopkinsville, Union City, Cairo, and Clarksville. Serving as an entry point for young players at baseball’s lowest classification, it ultimately folded in 1955 due to financial struggles, declining attendance, and the rise of television.
