The Maysville Rivermen were a minor league team based in Maysville, Kentucky, that played in the Blue Grass League. The name pays tribute to the city's historic connection to the Ohio River, a vital hub for commerce and transportation in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Maysville was a major shipping port during the steamboat era, known for exporting tobacco, hemp, and bourbon, and the Rivermen nickname likely refers to the many locals who worked as boatmen, ferrymen, or traders on the river.
The Rivermen played in the Blue Grass League from 1910 to 1913, and a 19-year-old Casey Stengel featured for the club during the 1910 season, the start of a Hall of Fame career.
