The Olive Hill Brickies were a team from Olive Hill, Kentucky, that played independent ball and in the Eastern Kentucky League in the 1920s and 30s. The name comes from the General Refractories Company, which manufactured firebrick in Olive Hill from the early 1900s until 1971 and was the region's major employer.
The Eastern Kentucky League was a six-team circuit in 1931 that also included the Owingsville Merchants, the Ashland Guards, and teams from Louisa, Greenup, and Hitchins. Teams like the Brickies were a staple of small-town life during this era, as Americans looked for recreational outlets and America's pastime swept the country.
