The Springfield Blanket Makers, from Springfield, Tennessee, were a short-lived Kitty League team. The Kitty League was a Class D minor league of the first half of the 20th century made up of teams from Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee. The Blanket Makers played a single season, 1923, and their nickname was a nod to the textile manufacturing in the area at the time. Unfortunately, the team wasn't as successful as the blanket industry: they started the season 14-36 and folded in July 1923. The franchise was sold and moved to become the Milan-Trenton Twins.
