The Greenville Majors are a historic baseball team from Greenville, Texas. They played in a number of leagues between 1946-1957 including the East Texas League, Big State League, and Sooner State League. The team was named for Lt. Truett Jay Majors, who was the first person from Greenville to be killed in WWII.
The Majors also have a major accomplishment to their name; on April 10 ,1947, they defeated a split-squad New York Yankees team managed by Casey Stengel at Majors Stadium!
